Every professional wants to reach office on time but often cannot due to a variety of reasons.
Arriving late in office looks bad but does it also affect you chances of growth in the company? What is the perception of employees on this?
To find out, JobBuzz, an employer rating platform powered by TimesJobs, conducted an online poll, asking employees if they thought reaching office on time helped one secure a promotion or that it had no relation to promotion.
The respondents had to choose from four options which included reaching office on time helped to impress the boss; it helped in better planning and more productive day; it helped in finishing work on deadlines and that it was not counted while promoting employees.
The poll results:
Nearly 55 per cent of the respondents said there was no direct link between reaching office on time and securing a promotion. But most agreed that reaching office on time helped in better planning and a more productive day, which would eventually lead to promotion in the long run.
According to 22 per cent of the respondents, reaching office on time is not being counted while promoting employees in companies.
Around 12 per cent of the respondents said reaching office on time helped them finish work on deadlines. And 10 per cent felt reaching office on time helped to impress the boss which might lead to a promotion later.
Overall, respondents felt that while reaching office on time had no direct benefit or impact on promotion, it had lot of indirect benefits. It helped in better planning, productivity, meeting deadlines, which eventually led to promotion.
